TEAC covers all the bases with trio of compact new Hi-Fi Reference Series componentsPress Release dated: 10 Apr 2013
Renowned for its quality hi-fi systems TEAC is proud to unveil a trio of new Reference components, designed from the ground up to offer musical prowess allied to the latest – and more traditional - audio technologies.
NP-H750 - Networked Stereo Amplifier with integrated AirPlay/WiFi
The latest addition to TEAC's Reference 700 series line up is an audiophile playback system that will particularly to those who live a CD-free existence.
Packing built-in AirPlay (for iOS devices) and Wi-Fi, the slim NP-H750 combines a traditional 2 x 40w analogue amplifier, designed using selected Elna Silmic audiophile capacitors for a rich, full-bodied sound. And to ensure the very best connection for your speakers banana-plug terminals are employed.
As well as full wireless/wired compatibility with iOS devices (iPod/iPhone/iPad) owners can stream music from DLNA-certified devices (PC/NAS/…) as well as connect directly to Windows PCs/Macs via USB (asynchronous). Capable of playing any content of up to 24-bit/192kHz resolution, the BurrBrown PCM1795 DAC (digital to analogue) converter employed is normally found in very high-end products… its presence in the NP-H750 ensures a quality of replay far beyond what you'd expect at the unit's modest price.
Bored with your own music collection? It can happen. Just activate the built-in vTuner internet radio facility and you'll be a few clicks away from more than 20,000 hugely diverse stations, all available completely free of charge.
CD-H750 – iPhone-compatible CD player with 'record to USB' function
Many who have grown up in the CD era have accumulated large collections of silver discs that they're inordinately fond of. This new Reference 700 series component will help them hear those silver platters at their very best while also offering owners an innovative way to experience their music on other devices.
Straightforward CD replay comes courtesy of a beautifully engineered mid-mounted CD drive that has been balanced to deliver an optimal centre of gravity (for low vibration). The job of converting digital data into analogue is tasked to a clever BurrBrown PCM1791A, a DAC with a few unusual tricks up its sleeve.
Hook up an iPod/iPhone to the CD-H750's front USB socket and the aforementioned DAC will take a digital feed from your iOS device and replay it with far higher quality than is possible via the device's onboard headphone output.
There's one last party trick. Put a CD in the tray and one can record the music on it directly to a USB stick without a PC. Pick from 64/96/128/192 kbps bit rates, according to your needs/tastes. Far from your average CD player then…
CR-H260i/CR-H260iDAB – Bluetooth-equipped CD Micro receiver
Graphically demonstrating how TEAC caters for every category of music lover the new CR-H260i (a new addition to the Reference 200 series) offers a dazzling array of media playback options in a pleasingly compact package.
And it's an eco-friendly one too. With a 2 x 25w Class-D amplifier onboard this system delivers great sound quality while consuming a fraction of the power of a conventional system. The high quality banana-plug type outputs also distinguish this receiver from lower order competitors.
Onto the music sources. The large drawer rather obviously confirms that CDs are happily accepted but the slots underneath hint at even greater versatility. A dedicated SD/SDHC card reader allows audio file (MP3/WMA) playback while the USB port is iPod/iPhone/iPad-friendly (and charges your devices into the bargain).
Naturally there's an FM/AM tuner (CR-H260iDAB including a DAB tuner) provided but the addition of Bluetooth connectivity enables a huge range of smartphones/tablets/computers etc to wirelessly play your music content via this system. Listen to your mobile device while you're commuting then hook it up to your TEAC when you get home for seamless, non-stop entertainment.
