Dual Zone Stereo AM/FM Receiver
Stereo Receiver for Several Speaker Pairs
The TEAC AG-980 is able to feed several speakers in different zones with music. This receiver allows connecting of up to four (4) speaker pairs, which may be grouped to a main zone and a sub zone. Any of the zones can be controlled individually. The respective signal sources, switching on or off of speakers and the loudness level can be controlled totally independent of each other. This makes the TEAC AG-980 the perfect choice for small acoustic installations in restaurants and shops. E.g. the dining-hall can get associated to the main zone where unobtrusive Mozart music is played while in the sub zone lounge or jazz music is played in waiting areas or cafes. The sub zone pre-out function allows routing of a line level audio signal to distant power amplifiers – like one on a terrace. Aided by a trigger current (12V DC) on and off state of the whole system can be controlled. Furthermore an RS-232 interface allows controlling the TEAC AG-980 with a third party remote control unit or with a PC. An outstanding feature which is not offered anymore by many other receivers is an audio input which allows connecting a record player.
